Status of Aldo/Koch Questionable with Muddled 135-lb Title Picture

After last night’s UFC on FX 4 card, UFC President Dana White was asked about the status of the UFC’s featherweight division, and whether Erik Koch (who was scheduled to fight champion Jose Aldo) would wait for Aldo’s injury to heal or fight again in the meantime. White pointed at the latter, suggesting Koch will probably fight again before facing Aldo saying, “Now that Aldo’s out, you know how that stuff works.” White went on to talk about the now crowded title contendership picture in the division

“It was a great win for him – definitely a big win,” White said of Lamas. “I thought (Swanson) looked phenomenal tonight, and we’ll see what happens. I’m really happy with both their performances, but Swanson looked awesome tonight. … I’m really impressed with his performance, and Pearson’s a guy I have a lot of respect for. Not only did (Swanson) win, he knocked him out. So we’ll see what happens.”

We will see in the upcoming weeks if Koch is matched against another featherweight.

Koch may need to get through one fight more to face Aldo
