Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson Announced as Next TUF Coaches
Dana White has revealed, in an exclusive with USA Today, that heavyweights Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson will be the coaches of the 16th installment of The Ultimate Fighter.
This season will be different than the last in that it will be taped. TUF 15 experimented with a live format that was scrapped after UFC president Dana White complained of sub-par ratings.
The sixteenth season will feature up-and-coming welterweights, and taping will begin shortly. Carwin is coming off a two-loss streak (Lesnar, Dos Santos) and hasn’t fought since June 2011. Nelson has been more active, but is still 2-3 in his last five fights. The two heavies will square off in the TUF 16 finale like all Ultimate Fighter coaches have done, sans injury.
