Cole Konrad Retires from MMA
We see fighters retire often due to injury or old age, rarely do we see a fighter who is champion or in his 20’s leave the sport; but Cole Konrad falls into both those categories. Konrad, 28, and undefeated defending Bellator heavyweight champion has left the sport to pursie a professional career.
The two-time NCAA heavyweight champion wrestler and MMA standout who won $100,000 winning the Bellator championship has retired and taken a job with North Central Trading as a financial trader specializing in milk products. The Minnesota-based firm supplied ingredients to “the feed, pet food, food processing, and chemical industries”.
Bellator officials declined comment, but most fans surely will miss Konrad’s impact in the organization.
