UFC 152 Results: Jones Defends Belt

Jon Jones (top) finishes Vitor Belfort in the fourth round

Jon Jones and Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson were the big winners on Saturday night, both leaving Toronto champions. Jones, defending his light heavyweight title for the fourth time against Vitor Belfort. Johnson, winning the inaugural flyweight champion against the heavily favored Joseph Benavidez.

Jon Jones was in the most trouble in his famed UFC career, fending off an early first round armbar attempt that left the champion in a cast after the fight. You wouldn’t have guessed it during the fight, though, as he showed no signs of injury. He roared back, though, dominating the rest of the affair until a keylock submission in the fourth round.

“Mighty Mouse” showed a dazzling performance of footwork and wrestling, and defeated a fighter in Benavidez that most figured was a shoe-in for the new championship. We also saw Michael Bisping to continue to show his progression, Cub Swanson drop another featherweight, and Vinny Magalhaes prove his worth as an up-and-comer in the UFC. Full results below:
