UFC 153 Results: Silva Shines

Anderson Silva (right) battered Stephan Bonnar to a first round TKO

Anderson Silva showed the MMA world what they already knew in front of the Rio crowd. He’s the best mixed martial artist in history. Showing disdain for Bonnar’s striking followed by an absolute spectacle of punches & knees, Anderson Silva cruised to his sixteenth straight victory in the UFC.

It continues to remain a question what will be next for the middleweight champion Silva. Media and fans want a fight against 205-lb. champ Jon Jones, Silva’s camp apparently wants Georges St-Pierre, and middleweight contenders want a shot a Silva’s belt which he defended most recently in July. Only time will tell where the road leads for Silva.

$80,000 bonuses were given to Jon Fitch & Erick Silva (Fight of the Night), Antonio Nogueria (Submission of the Night), and Rony Jason (Knockout of the Night) for their effort.
