Rashad Evans vs. Lil’ Nog Rumored for UFC 156
In what many are calling a mismatch at light heavyweight, it’s being reported that perennial contender Rashad Evans will be taking on Antonio Rogerio “Lil’ Nog” Nogueira at UFC 156 on February 2, 2013 according to Brazil’s SporTV.
Evans (17-2-1, 12-2-1 UFC) has an excellent record since joining the UFC after the second season of the ultra-popular “The Ultimate Fighter” series. His only two losses have been title fights, losing in May 2009 in what would have been his first title defense against Lyoto Machida then againin his most recent fight this April against current champion Jon “Bones” Jones.
“Lil’ Nog” (20-5, 3-2 UFC), twin brother to Antonio Rodrigo “Big Nog” Nogueira is coming off a win, but is 1-2 in his last three fights losing to up-and-comers Ryan Bader and Phil Davis before defeating Tito Ortiz in the penultimate fight of Ortiz’es career.
The February 2nd card, which will occur on Super Bowl Weekend, has been hinted to be UFC 156 and will feature a featherweight bout between Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo. It has yet to be confirmed whether or not this fight is official yet.
