Guillard vs. Varner Tabbed for TUF 16 Finale

Melvin Guillard (left) and Jamie Varner (right) will throw down in the TUF 16 Finale on Dec. 15

The TUF 16 Finale card is really beginning to shape up as two top lightweights have now been added to the mix. Melvin Guillard (30-11-2, 11-7 UFC) and Jamie Varner (20-7-1, 2-2 UFC) will face-off in the sixteenth finale of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ headlined by a heavyweight scrap between Shane Carwin & Roy Nelson.

Varner saw resurgence in his return to the UFC in May against Edson Barboza, only to be choked out in his next fight by Top 10 155-pounder Joe Lauzon. Guillard has had a long but fruitful career in the UFC since being a contestant in the second season of The Ultimate Fighter. He was rising to the top of the lightweight heap winning five in a row before himself getting choked out by Joe Lauzon. He is 1-2 since losing scraps to Jim Miller and Donald Cerrone.

The TUF 16 Finale looks to be one of the most stacked Ulimate Fighter Finales in history, featuring bouts like Carwin/Nelson, Mike Pyle vs. James Head, Pat Barry vs. Shane del Rosario, and Johnathan Brooks vs. Dustin Poirer. It will take place on December 15th at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
