The two top flyweights will step into the cage on Super Bowl Weekend

Two top 125-lb fighters will clash in Las Vegas on Super Bowl weekend as Joseph Benavidez and Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall will fight on the main card that is headlined by a featherweight title fight between Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo.

The 28 year old McCall rattled off consecutive wins against Dustin Ortiz and Jussier da Silva before taking the Tachi Palace Fights flyweight title from Darrell Montague in August 2011. He is 0-1-1 since joining the UFC after fighting current champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson twice.

Joseph Benavidez, also 28, is also coming off a loss against Johnson which snapped his 4-fight losing streak. The alpha male flyweight has put together an impressive Zuffa record both in the WEC and UFC.

The winner of the fight is likely to get a title shot against the winner of Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson.
