Coach: Rory Would KO Fedor

Bellator welterweight champion Rory MacDonald has a lot of accolades on his record. A dominant win against current UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley is one. His head coach Firas Zahabi says that if given the chance, a KO over heavyweight legend Fedor Emilianeko would be another.

“Rory is in his prime, and Fedor (Emelianenko) is not. I think if Rory catches him on the button — and he will — it will be a great name for him to collect. Rory has got that experience, has got that hunger. He’s in his prime now. Now’s the time to take those chances.”

Rory, who was denied his request to take part in Bellator’s Heavyweight Grand Prix, recently defeated Douglas Lima for the 170-lb. strap. Fedor is scheduled to fight Frank Mir in April at Bellator 197, the winner to take on Chael Sonnen in the grand prix semifinals.
